TEAM FORMATION — READ THIS IF YOU'RE TRYING TO ADD TEAMMATES ON DEVPOST
Thank you for registering for the USAII Global AI Hackathon 2026! We're excited to have you with us.
We've heard from a number of participants who are looking for teammates — and we want to make sure you know exactly how to connect before the build window opens.

🔍 HOW TO FIND TEAMMATES NOW
***********************************************
You have two great options to find your team before June 14:
1. Devpost — Visit the hackathon page and use the "Looking for teammates" feature to post your skills, interests, and the type of team you're hoping to join. Browse others who are looking as well.

2. Discord — Join our community server where participants are actively connecting, sharing ideas, and forming teams right now. Look for the #team-formation channel.

📋 HOW TEAMS WORK ON DEVPOST
***********************************************
Here's one important thing to know: the official Hackathon submission on Devpost does not open until June 14 — so you cannot create a project or add teammates on the platform until then.
Here's the plan:
• Form your team now using Devpost and Discord
• Start talking, planning, and getting to know each other
• When the submission opens on June 14, ONE team member (your designated team leader) creates the project on Devpost and invites the rest of the team using the email address each member used to register
Tip: Decide on your team leader in advance and make sure everyone knows the email address they registered with on Devpost.

👥 TEAM GUIDELINES
***********************************************
• Teams: 2–5 students
• Teams can include students from different schools or countries
• You must compete in the track that matches your highest education level
• Mixed-level teams register in the highest-level track represented
The Qualifier opens June 7 — so there's still time to lock in your team and prepare together. Don't wait!
If you have questions, reach us at aihackathon@usaii.org or post in Discord.
Good luck — we can't wait to see what you build.
